Beschreibungen

This book provides an overview of challenges and opportunities for algal management to mitigate climate change. This book offers new perspectives on how to control water pollution due to algae, while converting it to biosorbent and biodiesel that could be sold in market. The work also explores how to improve the performance of algae for such purposes. By identifying existing knowledge gap, this work uncovers new research directions for further development of algal management to address global environmental pollution.

• Extensive literature survey (2001-2023) in algal management based on empirical approach in the body of knowledge

• A comprehensive overview with critical analysis of algal management, for water treatment, biodiesel production, and food production, while dealing with climate change

• Providing insights about challenges, research direction, outlook, and perspectives of algal management in Industry 4.0 era

This book has an advantage that each chapter will be written by experts around the world working in their respective fields. As a result, this volume presents a balanced picture across the whole spectrum of algae. Furthermore, the authors are from both the developing and developed countries thus giving a worldwide perspective of looming climatic problems.

Dr. Tonni Agustiono Kurniawan is a recognized global leader in tackling complex environmental problems that have significant societal relevance and positive impact in the world. His research interests are in the areas of wastewater treatment and solid waste management. His degrees include a B.Sc. in chemistry from the Bogor Agricultural University (Indonesia), a M.Sc. in environmental technology from the Thammasat University (Thailand), and a Ph.D. in applied chemical technology from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (China). He is the author of over 210 peer-reviewed publications in ISI-rated journals, 26 conference proceedings, including 9 book chapters and 6 monographs in waste to energy and wastewater treatment.

Dr. Abdelkader Anouzla received his Ph.D. in Science & Technology at Hassan II University -Faculty of Science and Technology Mohammedia, specializing in water treatment. Dr. Abdelkader ANOUZLA has published almost 83 peer-reviewed articles and Eight books. As well as being a guest speaker at several conferences, he has also published numerous proceedings. He has experience in water and wastewater, solid waste management, environmental chemistry, pollutants in soil, study and characterization of waste, recycling, and reuse of waste to produce new materials, and air pollution. Anouzla conducts research in the areas of water and waste treatment, wastewater treatment plant operation, leachate discharge treatment, solid waste sorting, technical landfill management, and composting of solid waste and sludge from wastewater treatment plants, the Algae as a Natural Solution for Water-Food-Energy nexus and Microplastic pollution in the environment, digitalization in the water sector, Saving water in business and irrigation, nitrogen pollution.
