Dong Qiu is a professor, doctoral tutor, Yangtze River Scholar Distinguished Professor, and an expert with special allowance from the State Council. He serves as the director of the Academic Committee of the Institute of National Accounts at Beijing Normal University. His main research areas include national economic accounting, Chinese statistical reform and development, sustainable development, and macro-control. He holds several positions, including a member of the discipline assessment groups of the academic degree commission in statistical subjects of the State Council, a member of the management department of the Science & Technology Commission of the Ministry of Education, and a member of the Statistical Advisory Committee of the National Bureau of Statistics. Additionally, he is part of the discipline review team of the national philosophy and social sciences program, deputy director of the national statistical textbook compilation committee, and chairman of the Academic Committee of the Institute of National Account at Beijing Normal University.
