The famous novel "On the Beach" by Neville Shute is considered a romantic literary work. It is a novel that confirms that love remains in this life even after a person's death. What remains after its death is only love, as the novel's story revolves around a special romantic relationship. The characters and heroes of this novel represent a dispute and revolution between man and death, as we find that at times man clings to this life until his last breath as he struggles with death, and at other times he throws himself into destruction, seeking with his own hands to end his existence on this earth.
In this novel, we find its characters desperate, resigned to their fate, as they await the nuclear fallout coming from the other hemisphere, following the outbreak of World War III, which is a comprehensive atomic war. The novel "On the Beach" made the United Nations move quickly to hold talks on nuclear disarmament, and we can say that it is one of the most important novels that showed a clear picture of the annihilation of the world at the hands of humans using nuclear weapons. The novel mentioned the nuclear explosion of Castle Bravo, which was made by the United States in 1954.
It is worth saying that the conflict shown by "On the Beach" made its success reach the heights, as it achieved the highest sales at that time, and was turned into a movie starring international movie stars. It was also turned into a television series that was shown in both Australia, America, England and some European countries, which contributed to raising the success of the novel and its author, novelist Neville Shute, contributed on the beach by adding a new touch of creativity to his literary works.
From the atmosphere of "On the Beach": "When someone we love dies, we think it is the end of the world, but I would dare to say that life will go well after his death."
