Beschreibungen

After World War II, Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich (1921–2007) published works in English and German by eminent Israeli scholars, in this way introducing them to a wider audience in Europe and North America. The series he founded for that purpose, Studia Judaica, continues to offer a platform for scholarly studies and editions that cover all eras in the history of the Jewish religion.

The 17 volumes of the Jerusalem Talmud, established on the basis of the editio princeps and existing manuscripts, were published within the series Studia Judaica between 1999 and 2015. The text presents the first English scholarly translation and commentary of the Jerusalem Talmud. For the first time, the complete edition is published in paperback, each volume is also separately available as paperback.
